This page summarizes the software and hardware requirements for working with the legacy Video Cloud Studio, as well as user requirements for Video Cloud Smart Players.

To work with the legacy Video Cloud Studio, your computer should meet the following requirements.

Notes
[1] Most vendors for these supported products release updates that maintain backward compatibility. However, the release of newer versions not explicitly listed here may precede Brightcove's ability to test and verify full compatibility.
[2] Video Cloud only supports the default browser on the device (IE10) in the Windows 8 Modern UI.
[3] The Video Cloud Analytics module requires Internet Explorer 9 or later.
[4] The Video Cloud Live module requires Internet Explorer 10 or later.
Note: Video Cloud may also work in environments which Video Cloud has not specifically qualified through testing.
Port and domain access
In addition, please check that all required ports and domains can be accessed by your network. If you can not access the ports and domains below, you may experience issues using the Video Cloud Studio and modules. See this document for a detailed list.
Video Cloud Smart Player system requirements
End users should have one of the following browser and Flash versions installed to play Video Cloud Smart Players:

Note that only the client versions of Windows are officially supported, and an error is known to occur when a player loads in Internet Explorer 9 on Windows Servers 2008. You may be able to resolve this issue by installing the optional Desktop Experience component on Windows Server 2008.
Mobile requirements
End users using Android devices are not required to have Flash Player installed. For detailed information, see Supported Devices for HTML5 Players.
